Project the Project

Empower Communities, Thrive Together

Lucy lives by the principal of 'If you want a job doing...' and started a child sponsorship scheme in Sri Lanka when she was a teenager. This was her first 'project' which turned into an overwhelming success which is now self sustainable.
Turning her attention to Africa, Lucy now takes on projects in Tanzania and Uganda but nowhere is off limits. As long as the project meets certain criteria and 100% funding can be guaranteed to go to the beneficiaries, Lucy can make it happen. She secures funding. help and expertise from the UK and NEVER receives any pay, expenses, rent or administration costs- what you give is what they get.

What makes this the best way to make a difference:

100% of donations go to the project.
Anyone can offer help or suggest a project.

Project the Project enables communities to develop and overcome their struggles.

100% of all donations goes to the projects

We never create dependence.

You know where your donation goes and we make sure every penny is used wisely and to maximum impact.

We do no harm, work only through locals and local knowledge. Impact is constantly monitored forever.

Over the years we've delivered toys to displaced children, given hens to women to start a business, housed and educated street boys and young women, provided water where there was no clean water source for miles, funded a school with goat herds to generate their own income, provided equipment for disabled people to make goods and thrive in the community, covered hospital fees for children in need of operations, provided emergency aid during Covid 19 and so much more...!

95% of our work is to set up communities so they can thrive without the need for aid or charity. 5% of our work is to cover urgent needs when there is no other option.

All projects are strictly checked, monitored, planned and organised.
We don't do anything for show and grandiose cheap gestures are not our thing at all. We do what matters to the people involved and aim to improve, ease or save lives through our work
Everything aims to be sustainable - we look to set something up that will continue to do good in the long term and that can become independent of need for outside help.
We follow through and work until the job is done thoroughly.
No junk mail, chugging, phone calling or hassle for supporters, just a quarterly update on the good your contribution is doing.
All workers volunteer 100%- no staff fees (unless employing local staff is part of the project), no office rent, no travel costs or expenses etc- we are small, independent and proud of that!

Empower Hope

Education

PTP started out as an education charity, working in small communities in Asia to help provide facilities and food so children could come to school and had an incentive over working for money.

This snowballed and we realised these programs could sustain themselves if everyone got involved.

Now, we ensure young children in areas where it is often necessary for children to bring in an income for the family, have everything they need and the school provides them with more worth than working could.

We also help with adult education in matters such as domestic violence and self defence and business management.

Healthcare

Thousands of rural villagers now have safe water, thanks to PTP, allowing women and children to take education or work instead of walking miles to collect water each day.

Hundreds of women have been educated in how to make their own safe and affordable sanitary pads and to teach others how to do the same. This allows women and girls to keep studying or working throughout the month.

Countless children have been granted help to medical and hospital treatment when they could not afford it.

Covid provisions, including health kits, emergency aid packages and education were provided during the Covid 19 Pandemic when government provision fell short.

Nutrition

PTP works with local communities to help set up sustainable food sources. Food security is a big problem for millions living in harsh climate conditions.

PTP has education and business start up plans for these communities so they can thrive without being so dependent on aid.

We also teach how to save and plan for the worst, in case the climate conditions are too much to bear again.
